The Experts:

Chie Morita seeks creative solutions to everyday debacles. She is a co-founder and partner of FORGE, a boutique consultancy devoted to helping artists and companies take the next step in their own work. In all she does, Chie seeks to liberate the artist from cultural stereotypes and negative self-stories. Always eager to challenge the norms under which we were taught to create, she consults and mentors on proactive planning, financial literacy, and the practice of collaborative asking.

In New York, she has worked with Tony-Award-winning Broadway Producer Joey Parnes (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, End of the Rainbow), institutions including The Public Theater, Ars Nova, and New York Neo-Futurists (who, under her care, were awarded three Drama Desk nominations), TriBeCa Venue Town Stages (where she created, curated, and managed the Sokoloff Arts Fellowship Program), and such independent artists and ensembles as Heather Christian and the Arbornauts, Esperance Theater Company, Extant Arts Company, UglyRhino, Panicked Productions, Fresh Ground Pepper, and art.party.theater.company.

Chie is also a Regional Coordinator for Statera Arts Mentorship: NYC, a collaborator on the Wonderland Historical Society in New Orleans, a proud board member of The Musical Theater Factory and a co-producer on an Untitled Kopp/Reece Superhero musical in development.

Greg Taubman helps stories find their form and storytellers hone their craft—primarily as co-founder and partner of FORGE, a boutique consultancy dedicated to helping artists and makers take the next step in their own work (www.forgenyc.org). Believing that imagination is the wellspring of empathy, Greg is forever investigating the creative process and its power to engender and deliver a communal sense of meaning. By providing cultivated spaces to work in, tailored tools to master, and expert perspectives to take on, Greg encourages creators of all kinds to articulate the ineffable and make visible their inner truths.

As a freelance director and dramaturg, Greg has worked with institutions including The Public Theater, Classic Stage Company, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Shakespeare Society, and Theater of War. As an educator, Greg has taught and directed students at Stanford, Columbia, LIU Post, and Uncommon Schools. His Greek and Latin translation work has appeared at Ars Nova, The Public Theater, Columbia University, NYU’s Skirball Center, and Poet’s House. He holds a BA in Classics from Princeton (Summa Cum Laude) and MFA in Directing from Columbia.

Greg proudly serves as Co-Producer of Odd Salon NYC, Board Chair for Maine’s Barn Arts Collective. With the time remains, Greg works on his book, Such Stuff: The Essential Value of Art & Dreams.
